Hi, I’m Hitesh Mestry — a cinematographer based in the GTA.
My work explores raw human emotion through light, movement, and composition. I began with photography, learning how to see stories in everyday moments — lessons that continue to guide every frame I shoot.
Over the past few years, I’ve worked on narrative and horror short films, including Wolves and a 48-Hour Film Festival project, and developed small-scale stories like Zombie Dance and Murder Mystery. Each project has been an exploration of atmosphere, emotion, and rhythm.
I draw inspiration from Stanley Kubrick, whose own path from photography to film showed me how powerful a single frame can be. My goal is to continue shaping stories through cinematography — from narrative shorts to documentaries and, eventually, feature films.
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually brewing a cup of French press coffee from local roasters, refining systems with lean principles, or watching pro wrestling for its unexpected storytelling craft.
If you’d like to collaborate on a project or talk film over coffee, I’d love to connect.
